Real estate conferences are a must-attend for professionals in the industry. An event provides a great setting for meeting other like-minded professionals in real estate and encourages networking and collaboration. If you or your organization is in charge of event planning, you may be a bit stumped when it comes to designing a conference name badge for the big event.
There are so many choices to be made, it can be a bit overwhelming. How do you know what information is most useful to include on a real estate conference name badge? There’s a delicate balance to achieve between getting all the right information on display and having too much or too little available. Let’s take a look at the basic information you should consider including on your event name tags.
This may seem obvious, but in some instances, attendees are lumped together by a company name. But most individuals won’t answer to a company name like they will respond to hearing their name being called. The wearer’s name should be the focal point of the name tag design. It should be clear, big, and bold in relation to other information you may include on the name badge.
The name should be easy to read from a short distance. Don’t make others guess at what the person’s name is or have to stare to try to make out the letters. Choosing a good font for the attendee’s name means others can see it as they approach.
The attendee’s first name should be visible, as it is most important. But it can be good to include the last name too. It helps with registration and identification. During the registration process, allow attendees to choose the name they want on the name badge. When registering, legal names are used, but not everyone goes by their legal name.
Whether you need to include titles on name badges may depend on the type of event you are planning, the level of interactions, and if there is true value associated with people’s titles. You may decide that attendees need titles on their name badges, but exhibitors do not.
It is also possible that having a person’s title displayed on the real estate event name badge could possibly cut off a conversation before it gets started. Leaving the title off may spark more engagement as others will need to learn more about other attendees and their role in the real estate industry. Think of omitting the title from event name badges may just work to force networking.
Should you include the organization names on event name tags? It is a bit different than individual titles. An organization name can carry more weight. But again, it depends on the nature and purpose of the event. Organization names can help build connections and start conversations between exhibitors or attendees.
It can be a bit tricky though as some attendees may be retired, unemployed, self-employed, or students. Do they have other information where the organization name would go? There is the option of excluding organization information to encourage networking. If a person only sees a first name, they are forced to exchange information to converse. Again, leaving this info off the name badge may encourage networking.
We can lump all the conference information together in this step. Just take time to think what is really needed on the conference name badges. Is it a small venue? Are attendees all in one group? If you’re hosting the event at a large venue with numerous groups, you will want to prominently display the conference or sponsoring organization’s logo. Using a full-color logo can give a huge boost in branding efforts.
